Scripture Reading: James 1:17 (NLT)
"Whatever is good and perfect is a gift coming down to us from God our Father, who created all the lights in the heavens. He never changes or casts a shifting shadow."
Reflection
November is a month marked by gratitude and generosity. As the leaves fall and the days shorten, we are reminded that every good and perfect gift comes from the hand of our Father. This season invites us to pause, to notice, and to give—not only from what we have, but from who we are in Christ.
We live in a culture where giving can sometimes feel transactional—measured by what we buy, wrap, and exchange. But Scripture reminds us that true giving flows from a deeper source: the heart of God. In this Season of Giving, we will walk through stories from Scripture that invite us to give in ways that reflect His love, His presence, and His abundance.
What to Expect in This Series
Over the next several weeks leading up to Advent, we’ll reflect on the following themes:
The Grace of Giving — How God’s generosity shapes our own.
Giving in Jesus’ Name — What it means to give beyond silver and gold.
Giving That Multiplies — How God takes our offerings and uses them for more than we imagine.
The Reward of Giving — Discovering the joy that comes when we give God our best.
Each post will offer Scripture, reflection, practical application, and gentle practices for living out generosity—not just in our wallets, but in our time, presence, and love.
Reflection Questions
When you think of “giving,” what comes to mind first?
How have you experienced God’s generosity in your own life recently?
What would it look like for this November to become a true season of giving for you?
Closing Thought
This month, let’s lean into a rhythm of giving that reflects the heart of Christ. Together, we will discover that when we give in His name, we not only bless others—we experience the deep joy of His presence in our own lives.
